Italy in November: Stylish Rainy Day Outfit
As you may have noticed from my updates I recently took a trip to Italy. I’m excited to finally start sharing with you the outfit posts and photos we took on our trip!
Let’s start off with an stylish rainy day outfit!
During our month long adventure in Italy we visited Rome, Modena, Venice, Florence and the Tuscan countryside. We were lucky that the rain was contained to our time in Rome. But when it rained, it poured with thunder and lighting. I’m not complaining I love the rain and the cold winter season in general.
We didn’t waste luggage space by packing an umbrella because we figured we would just buy it in Rome. But before we got our own, we borrowed our good friend’s umbrella and the wind destroyed it. While touring the city the first week we went to the top of the Altare della Patria (Altar of the Fatherland) it got really rainy and windy and the umbrella was flung upward and broke. It turned inside out! Check out the photo I shared on Instagram. Peter couldn’t stop laughing.
The umbrella in this outfit post is one we bought off a street vendor out of necessity. Of course, I picked a stand out color, it’s actually pretty stylish. The large size wasn’t practical but it came in handy throughout the rest of the trip. A funny observation, I noticed so many people had this style of umbrella. Not just tourists either!
These photos were taken in Piazza Navona and that’s the Sant’Agnese in Agone in the background. This gorgeous square has three fountains with churches, restaurants and stores all around. I’ll share photos of the famous Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi in an upcoming travel post.
Stylish Rainy Day Outfit in Rome
When it rained, the temperature in Rome was not too cold. Sometimes, I was able to get away without wearing my essential coat. In this outfit, I’m wearing a long sleeve sweater with a thin satin bomber.
When traveling make sure to check the temperature before you start your day, it might not be as cold as it looks outside.
I paired the sweater and bomber with black skinny jeans and black boots. Boots are what you’ll mostly wear during this cooler time of year. Even if it’s not raining there will be puddles everywhere so it’s best that you wear shoes that you don’t mind getting wet.
Also, these boots have thick heels which are perfect for long days of walking and exploring. When traveling in the winter in Italy, don’t bring boots with a thin heel, you’ll have a hell of a time trying to walk.
The structured ZAC Zac Posen satchel and plaid scarf finish off this stylish rainy day outfit. As I mentioned before, they’re essentials so you’ll see them again in other outfit posts.
How does your rainy day outfit look?
