Minimal Black and White Look

I know this “winter” outfit doesn’t apply to everyone in the world but I live in California and it looks like were not having a winter this year. It’s been in the 70’s for the past two weeks, I guess the polar vortex that hit the US took all the cold from the West coast. There isn’t even any snow in the mountains! How’s the weather where you live?

This is the last outfit from our relaxing wine tasting weekend in Paso Robles, CA – take a look at the first two outfit if you missed them. My goal with this outfit was to create a minimal black and white winter look. I’ve had this blazer for a couple of years and it’s the perfect piece to create interest and shape. With its clean lines and stiff scuba material it creates high impact with little effort. This blazer is a bright white so I needed to make sure that the coordinating scarf was just as bright or it would have thrown off the entire look.

Five pieces make up this look; the white blazer, white scarf, black cami, black leggings and black pumps. It doesn’t take much to create a minimal look. That’s actually the point of a minimalist look. These minimal outfits are meant to be created with only a few pieces that are très chic and have a dash of panache. They also have to be tailored to perfection. An ill-fitting jacket or pant will deviate from the overall minimalistic plan.
