Go-To Sneakers – Stylish Essential
Swap Your Heels for Sneakers
You’re old pair of sneakers are still stylish, sometimes.
Most likely you already have a pair of old sneakers in your closet. Those go-to pair of sneakers that are comfortable and your favorites. They might be Chuck Taylors, Nikes, Adidas or Reeboks. For some reason you can’t bare to part with them because of sentimental reasons or because they’re just so different from everything else in your shoe collection. These shoes have turned into an essential, a piece that can easily be worn with many outfits, from casual to dressy.
I’ve had these pair of converse for over five or six years. I like them because they’re simple, black and skinny. I mean, they don’t look like running shoes with a thick sole and a sporty shape. I don’t like the extra high top or chubby sneakers, they’re just not my style. For me, simple and clean are more to my liking.
How to Wear Your Favorite Sneakers
On this beautiful day in Monterey, CA I decided to wear my converse instead of heels and enjoyed a nice long walk along the beautiful California coast. They were a less predictable choice than, say, the sexy strappy sandals I was going to wear but they brought a fresh approach to the look. Instead of sexy-chic it’s laid-back chic.
The barely-there sneakers look fresh and minimalist, which is the look I was going for.
Of course the style of sneakers will determine the outfit. What kind of sneakers do you have in your closet? Is it a pair of white high top Air Jordans with 90s-style charm? If so, then you might consider going a little more preppy “a la” Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Or you might own a pair of black and white high top lace-ups. Or you can channel sneaker enthusiast Kristen Stewart and pair them with gray skinnies and a relaxed sweater.
Whatever your sneaker favorite might be make sure to always wear them with panache.
