Sterling Vineyards – A Unique Wine Tasting Experience In Napa Valley

Wine Tasting at Sterling Vineyards
Even if it’s just for the view a visit to Sterling Vineyards during a trip to Napa Valley is a must!
Sterling Vineyards is located in Calistoga, perched 300 feet above the town. This unique winery offers breathtaking views of Napa Valley. With an aerial tram, walking wine tour, and wine glass memento the tasting fee is more than worth it.
As you’re driving to the vineyards, you’re able to see the brilliant white stucco building that stands out against the lush green mountain range.
Tasting at Sterling Vineyards is an experience of its own. It was not my first time visiting this one of a kind winery. We had a friend visiting from Italy, so this trip to Napa was special and different from our normal visits. We stopped at the “must-sees” in wine country.
Once you arrive and pay for a tasting and take a ride on the aerial tram up to the winery. On this very scenic ride, you get to view the start of the gorgeous valley. Once you arrive at the top, you are greeted with a glass of wine, and this starts your wine tasting walk. As you stroll through the winery, you’ll enjoy galleries, overlooks, and beautiful walkways. We also get a glimpse into the winemaking process as we look down into the hustle and bustle of the grape to glass process.
Where we spent most of our time was at the Sterling View Terrace. The View Terrace is the highest point in the winery tour and gives you the best views of the valley.
Sterling Vineyards offers wine and cheese pairings and single wine glasses for purchase as well if you want to relax and take in the view. Sterling Vineyards is one of the wineries in Napa where you can sit down, relax, and take your time. It doesn’t feel like you’re getting rushed out or uncomfortable.
From Sterling Vineyards, you’re able to see Castello di Amorosa in the distance, and that was the second place we visited.
