What to Wear Wine Tasting Outfit Series
Like I mentioned before, the time of year you go wine tasting will be the first thing that determines the type of clothes you wear. The second aspect that you need to consider is the location. Where will you be wine tasting in California? Napa, Paso Robles, Sonoma or Healdsburg? Even though most of these locations temperatures will be very similar there are slight variances especially when you get closer to the coast.
Once you have the time of year and location, the last thing you need to consider is the winery landscapes. Also, the number of wineries you plan on visiting. The amount of wineries you visit will determine your footwear selection. If you only plan on visiting one location and then calling it a day than a sexy pair of heels are perfect. But if you have scheduled tours with walks along the vineyards it’s best to be prepared and wear flats or sandals. You don’t want to ruin your favorite pair of heels by walking in dirt or gravel.
What to wear wine tasting brings a lot of different opportunities that you may not have planned for. For example, you planned on visiting three wineries but then you pass a gorgeous winery that captures your interest and you just have to stop because the views are spectacular. Or You found the perfect location with the best wine and the best scenic view so change the plan and spend the rest of your afternoon there. You might not always know what you’re in for, so be prepared. Bring an extra pair of shoes and leave them in the car. If you start off wearing heels, have flats or sandals in the car for back up and vice versa.
Wine Tasting Outfit
For this outfit, I decided to wear wedges. This winery was smaller and there wasn’t much walking, so I was safe. The light tan and green went very well with the olive green chinos and the blouse. This outfit has a nice balance of stylish but casual which was achieved with the color and fabric choices.
The blouse has a pretty nature pattern which added the right amount of interest without it being an overpowering single piece. The relaxed chinos stop this outfit from being “too dressy.” These chinos are the same style as the previous wine tasting outfit I shared with you just in an olive green color instead of blue. Like they say, if you found an item you love get it in every available color. (I need to order the gray charcoal ones that were not at the store when I purchased these.)
If you’re wondering what to wear wine tasting remember: month, location and landscape. Put together a stylish and comfortable look and bring an extra pair of shoes just in case.
A Good Place for Lunch in Napa
The last photo you see below is of Gott’s Restaurant in Napa Valley. We had lunch here after Peter read that it was a must eat location when your visiting Napa. The wait was not too bad about 20 min, that was just waiting in line to order. It’s a very popular place. Peter ordered their most popular burger which is the ahi burger and I got mahi mahi tacos, both were delicious! If you don’t mind the long lines than I highly recommend checking this restaurant out.
P.S. I mainly shared my California wine tasting experience. Where in the world do you go and what do you wear? Let me know in the comments.
