Pretty Printed Shorts for Summer

What stylish items are synonymous with summer? Sunglasses and shorts!

It’s time to bring out and wear your brightly printed shorts for summer. What? You have yet to add a pair of pretty printed shorts to your summer wardrobe? No worries, there are tons available! Three things to consider: the pattern, the colors and the length/style.

When searching for the perfect patterned shorts make sure to look for a pattern that wows you and is a real head turner. I look for patterns that are intricate, ornamental and smaller in size. By smaller I mean the pattern is repeated multiple times, as in the shorts I’m wearing in this post. It’s not a huge pattern only repeated two to three times.

I select colors that compliment my skin tone. I like to pull one color from the pattern and match it to a shirt. This is great when you want to wear lots of color. In this case I wore a white chiffon top so the focus would be on the shorts.

The last thing I evaluate is the length of the shorts. I usually like shorter patterned shorts in a light material like silk. This is mostly personal preference as it can be too much pattern if in a longer style like bermudas for my petite frame.
