What to Wear Wine Tasting in September
January was last time we went wine tasting so the past outfits I wore wine tasting were a little more cozy. I wore black leggings and a white blazer, cozy knits and an all black look. This time around, I enjoyed the summer sunshine.
This past weekend Peter and I headed to California’s wine country for a celebration of life. Since it was such a busy three weeks, working long days and weekends we thought we head out early and spend a couple of days relaxing in US wine capital, Napa Valley.
Wine Tasting Outfits
This is the first out of four outfits in my what to wear for summer wine tasting series.
It’s September, only a few days away from Fall, but still warm enough for summer clothing. The weather in Napa Valley is fresh in the mornings but warm in the afternoons. Too hot for a blazer but perfect for a pair of pants or a long sleeve dress.
For our first day, I wore this neutral outfit and a pair of fun patterned pants from LOFT. Since the pants are very busy I wanted to keep the rest of the outfit neutral. I paired these patterned pants with a blouse that matches one of the colors from the pattern.
With this chiffon blouse and a basic tee in the same color, I layered the light chiffon blouse over the shirt and created an airy pretty layered look. The pop of color in this look was the handbag and the orange heels. These colors work well together because of they’re all in the warm color family. The browns and oranges with a splash of red are appealing to the eye and come together nicely.
Outfit to Wear Wine Tasting – Wear Neutrals
A neutral outfit to wear wine tasting goes perfectly with this wine country activity since it’s such a relaxing atmosphere and the landscape of most wineries are earth toned. This outfit would also work with flats or sandals, if heels are not your favorite thing to wear wine tasting.
Which brings me to an important point. The shoes you wear wine tasting are very important because you’re going to be standing a lot and walking around. If you’re doing any tours, it’s best to wear shoes that are comfortable. Also take into consideration which wineries you will be visiting which means you might be walking in grass, dirt, gravel or cobblestone.
This shoes in this outfit have a chunkier heel so they would work for any type of situation. An outfit to wear wine tasting can range from neutrals to brights but if you’re going for a relaxing feel and easygoing time this is an outfit that can achieve just that.
What do you think! I would love to know what you wear while wine tasting.
