1 piece, 3 ways: The Essential Aztec Print Cardigan
Fall Wardrobe Essentials – The Aztec Print Cardigan
As I mentioned in this first essential outfit post – I’m starting a new series this Fall. 1 piece, 3 ways. These posts will focus on one item and share 3 separate ways to wear it. The first in the series was the aztec print cardigan!
The great thing about this aztec print cardigan is that it’s incredibly affordable, only $20! With the endless outfit opportunities and Fall commencing it’s an essential piece to have in your wardrobe. Of course a sweater cardigan doesn’t have to have an aztec print it can be in any color or pattern that you wish but I thought this was a fun way to change it up.
Essentials don’t always have to be expensive but they do have to be a piece that you love and you know you’ll wear over and over again. This is the reason I started these posts. I love lots of my closet pieces and I often wear the same piece throughout a season and I wanted to share the versatility of pieces here with you.
Below are the details for each outfit post and options to create a similar look. Click on the title to view the entire outfit post and more photos.
With the aztec cardigan being black and white I wanted to add some color. I added this gorgeous Fall colors to this outfit by adding an olive green fedora and a mustard yellow shirt. Not only do they break up the look but the colors are also ver Fall so it goes great with the cardigan and the season.
Try adding come color to your fall outfits with accessories such as a handbag or a hat. It’s easy to wear a Fall colored blouse for some seasonal fun.
When you want to wear your aztec print cardigan sweater on a casual date with friends or significant other have it feel casual from head to toe. I don’t often wear high top buns but I think this hair style really went with the vibe of the outfit. Instead of heeled boots I wore flat embellished boots to keep the casual feel. The finishing touch was a larger black and cream satchel.
Wearing your oversized aztec cardigan with a dress can be a little tricky. You need to find the right balance between sweater and dress. The dress needs to be on the shorter size and either fitted or with a belt. In this outfit the dress hem was below the cardigan and I wore a matching waist tie to accentuate my waist. To keep the outfit from looking bulky I didn’t wear tights and mid calf boots. This is a great transitional summer to fall outfit.
How do you like the new 1 piece, 3 ways outfit series?! I would love to know what you think in the comments below. If there is a specific item you would like to be feature let me know!
