Let’s Chat About Bright Workout Clothes
Do you prefer dark or bright workout clothes? If you love wearing black but are inching towards color then keep on reading!
A vital part of any wardrobe are workout clothes that help you spring you into action. Bold and bright workout clothes can give you the energy to workout a little harder and a little longer. The right workout outfit will give you that nudge to make exercise an integral part of your stylish life.
From Black to Bright
If you haven’t added bright workout clothes to your gear it’s time to go from basic to bold.
I started making exercise part of my daily routine while in college. Peter, my now boyfriend, said lets workout together (as one of our dates) and the first thing I thought was; “Crap! I have nothing to wear.” I immediately went to an athletic store and bought black sleek workout clothes. All my workout clothes during those early fitness years of my life were black, gray and sometimes white.
It wasn’t until these past two years of my life that I’ve started embrace and wear bright workout clothes. I had gotten tired of blending into a sea of black clothes at the gym. Also, I didn’t like the fact that my workout clothes didn’t represent my personal style and the evolution of my style. I had started to integrate color into my everyday wear and desired the same for my workout clothes.
Our positive psychological reaction to bright colors makes the transition from black to pink or blue not be as hard as you think. Studies show that brighter clothes display high self esteem and confidence. Start by changing your color palette to compliment your skin tone and see if it improves your confidence. This is true in and out of the gym.
In this bright workout outfit, I wore color coordinated purple and pinks. I went with purple patterned pants instead of a solid purple. I’m trying to integrate more patterns into my wardrobe.
When shopping search for your favorite patterns and colors in workout pants and tops. There are tons available; so I’m sure you’ll find your favorite chevron or aztec print in turquoise and grey.
If you avoid wearing just a sports bra when working out, look for a fun top for a light layer. A halter style, blouson tank top is flattering, comfortable and hides the tummy. Look for a tank like the one in this post. I recommend coordinating the tank with the sports bra.
StyleTip: Feel more positive and motivated by wearing functional yet stylish bright workout clothes, instead of the black.
Workout Tip: Leave the gym and take your exercise outside. If you live near the coast run along the beach. Find a running path in your city or town and make an effort to workout outdoors at least one day out of the week.
When you put on the right colors you feel more confident, energetic and you’ll have an extra pep in your workout step.
