Boyfriend tees can be dressed up or down, make trousers or pencil skirts casual and have a certain sex appeal to them. Basically, a boyfriend tee is a shirt that is slightly oversized. Not too tight but not too big either. They fit loose without clinging to your shoulders or waist. You don’t have to specifically buy a shirt called a “boyfriend tee” just buy a size larger, so if you’re a small buy a medium and if you’re a medium buy a large.

The shirt I’m wearing in this outfit is from Pickwick & Weller, it’s no longer in stock but they have a variety of other options. Personally, I love how this top fits. I’ve had it for over a year and it has kept its shape, or lack there of.

I love wearing a boyfriend tee with cropped trousers to bring down the dressiness of the pants which makes trousers weekend appropriate.

One of the consequences of wearing a boyfriend tee is that it doesn’t allow you to accentuate your figure. The oversized nature of this look drapes your upper half, therefore, it’s important that you wear a form fitting bottom to maintain balance.

To balance the fun pieces in this look, I made sure that all the colors coordinated. The burgundy pants match the plaid clutch and the gray snakeskin heels match the gray boyfriend tee. To pull off this look remember to keep it balanced.
