Add Subtle Pattern To an Office Outfit
Continuing with the office looks, yesterday, I shared with you a way to wear patterned pants to the office, so today I wanted to share with you a look with a subtler pattern: polka dots.
It’s important to note, these outfits I share with you are the actually looks I wear for the rest of the day. We shoot these photos first thing in the morning then I go on with my day. So at times you might see more office appropriate looks than casual outfits, depending on the day of the week.
Wearing loud prints or colors can be a little difficult depending on where you work and your personal comfort level. If you really want to starting injecting some variety into your work wear, instead of just wearing solids, start off slowly. Select a subtle pattern or print in a neutral color and pair it with a solid piece.
For example, in this outfit I wore a feminine beige polka dot blouse with a bow in the front and ruffles on the sleeves. Notice how the bow is small and the ruffles almost blend in with the shirt? It has the right amount of girlishness. The bow on the blouse goes with the small bow on the nude pumps, linking the pieces. My solid item for this outfit was this black and white skirt.
How do you add variety to your office looks? Is it with color, pattern or fabrics?
