Coronado Beach California
We spent quite a bit of time on the beach while in sunny San Diego. It wasn’t our plan to get so tanned, but we took advantage of the beautiful beaches and sunny days and got plenty of color.
We took these photos on Coronado Beach on Coronado Island. Coronado Beach has the iconic Hotel del Coronado on the backdrop. This beach was packed with people. Families, couples, friends and travelers all were either getting a tan, building sandcastles, playing rally ball or just enjoying the views.
Coronado Beach was one of my favorite beaches because the fine white sand that sparkles in the sun. We were in Coronado Beach, California at the end of July, so it was pretty hot. The temperature was not extremely hot but hot enough to want to go for a swim. California beaches are pretty cold no matter the time of year. Just in case you don’t know the water is cold!
Pretty Summer Bikini
This summer I paid more attention to bikinis because I knew we were planning on going to San Diego and needed a cute summer bikini or three.
I previously shared with you that it’s ok to wear a mismatched bikini! When you find a top you love but no matching bottom find a bottom that would like nice with it. That’s what I did with that blue and white summer bikini.
But with this gorgeous summer bikini from ViX Paula Hermanny I loved the matching set. The tie-dye stripe pattern in a beautiful mix of yellow, blue, purple and white is a perfect compliment to my tan skin.
Selecting a color in a summer bikini that compliments your skin tone is not something that is often mentioned. Maybe because it’s such little fabric you can try a variety and be daring with your selection, but it’s important to pay attention to color.
I usually stay clear of orange, pastel blues or anything that makes my skin color look too dark or washed out. Especially when you’re wearing a summer bikini you want to look and feel radiant and wear a bikini you LOVE!
I can say I LOVE the summer bikini I’m wearing in this post! The pattern is gorgeous, and the fabric is XTRA LIFE LYCRA blend, so it’s super soft. The zaz bia tube top has adjustable sliding tubes on the strap that you can move up or down depending how much coverage you want. The matching bottom has the perfect amount of coverage for my comfort and fits snuggly. Never did I feel uncomfortable or not pretty, which is so important when wearing a bikini, right?!
To “dress up” this bikini I wore Peter’s classic Panama hat for sun protection and because it’s pretty stylish and fun beachy accessories. A long necklace and some beaded bracelets complete my stylish beach outfit.
