How to Rock Olive Green Pants

Colored denim can be tricky to wear. From brights to muted, colored denim needs to be carefully chosen and paired with colors that compliment the pants.

Today’s focus is olive green pants. These muted beauties are a lot easier to wear during fall than pastel pink pants in the summer or spring. Since the preferred outfit colors for fall are generally darker and/or muted the colors in pants or denim becomes slightly easier to pull off.

Wearing colored pants into fall doesn’t have to be hard. Find pants in deeper hues such as burgundy, deep purple, or olive green. Naturally these will be easier to wear because darker colors create the illusion of a slimmer physique.

In this outfit, I wore a lighter olive green pant. I wanted the olive green pants to be the main color and focus of the outfit so I kept the rest of the outfit neutral. The accessories and sweater are in off-white, gray, black, and taupe. These toned down colors let the main focus of the outfit be the awesome pants. I could of worn a red wool fedora or gold booties but I think the stand out olive green pants were enough to make this a stylish fall outfit.

Keep this in mind when styling colored pants for fall. If you want to play on the fall theme select a darker pant and find “fall neutrals” to support the color. So for example, let’s say you wear burgundy pants, you could wear a cream sweater, brown booties and maybe a gray plaid scarf. Pick the focus color and let the rest of the items support it.
