Coachella Fashion – A Boho Chic Outfit For Your Inspiration
What is Coachella Fashion
Coachella fashion is synonymous with boho, free-spirited clothing that gives young and old the opportunity to play dress up for three days. If you want to know what Coachella fashion is, all you have to do is Google it. When you begin to scroll through the photos, you’ll start to see a trend of fringe, cut off denim shorts, hats, flower crowns, ankle boots, floral details, bare midriffs, round sunglasses and flash tattoos.
I mean, who doesn’t want to look like they walked right out of a Free People lookbook. I do! It’s not every day that I can get away with Yoko Ono sunglasses and teenage denim shorts.
I say, bring on the Coachella fashion!
Here’s a secret: it was my first Coachella! Yes, I know shocking! Since it was my first time attending this highly anticipated musical festival and since I am a fashion blogger I went all out on my Coachella outfits! I had every box checked except flash tattoos and flower crowns. I had too much sunscreen on for flash tattoos, and I believe in protecting your face from the scorching heat, so I opted for a large hat instead of a flower crown.
What to Wear to Coachella
These photos show my day one of Coachella outfit. I had read online that you should not wear open toed shoes! So I wore sturdy ankle boots from CAT footwear instead of beautiful gladiator sandals. After Peter and I had been making our way to the front of concerts, I understood why this detail was so important. I did have my feet stepped on many times; it should be expected. There are hundreds of people around you – one or two people are bound to get too close.
Wearing ankle boots not only protect your feet from the crowd but they also from the dirt. There is no way your beautiful pedicure will stay intact if you wear sandals. We walked through a lot of dirt walkways because not every place is paved or has grass. My white ankle boots were not so white at the end of the festival.
I wore a super gorgeous Isabel Marant embroidered gauze top with cut-off denim shorts. I also added a brown embroidered belt to connect the details of the top and the shorts. Continuing with the Coachella fashion theme, I wore a See by Chloe fringe bucket bag. This handbag is one of my favorite pieces from my Coachella outfits that it will be a part of my outfits throughout Spring and Summer!
To complete this Coachella outfit, I wore a large brown hat, round sunglasses and stacked on the bracelets.
How many items from the Coachella uniform did I wear? Let’s count; hat, fringe, ankle boots, cut off denim shorts, round sunglasses, floral details, and stacked jewelry! I think I did pretty good for my first Coachella outfit.
Palm Springs Wind Farm
We took these photos at the famous Palm Springs wind farm. The wind farm welcomes you as you drive into Palm Springs. For miles and miles, windmill’s cover the landscape which of course make for the perfect backdrop.
If you’ve been to Coachella before you even might have stopped to snap a few photos!
Did you know, “the gateway to the Coachella Valley, the San Gorgonio Pass is one of the windiest places in Southern California.” {source}
