What to Do When Your Outfit Lacks Interest?
Have you ever looked at your outfit and thought it was missing something? A little bit of color, a pattern, some accessories?
This is a feeling that a lot of us get several throughout the month when getting ready but it’s even more evident when traveling. When traveling you have a limited amount of clothes with you and if you don’t pack the correct items to begin with you could have lots of not so stylish moments. That’s why I always make sure to make a packing list, but more about that in another post.
If you ever feel like your outfit lacks oomph here’s a quick solution: wear leopard print shoes.
One of the easiest ways to add some interest to an outfit is with pattern and color. Today we’re going to focus on what to wear with leopard print shoes.
What to Wear with Leopard Print Shoes
1. Dark Hues
When you’re primarily wearing darker tones leopard is a the perfect pattern to partner with your outfit. Most natural leopard patterns have black in them so dark hues directly ties in with the leopard print shoes.
In this outfit I’m wearing almost black jeans, black silk bomber jacket, dark handbag and a burgundy shirt with my leopard print flats. The leopard print add a nice dimension to the outfit. The look wouldn’t be the same with black flats.
2. Strong Solids
Since your article of interest is the leopard print shoes it’s best to keep the attention on them. Instead of adding another print to your outfit the best option would be to add a strong solid.
Wear a shirt or handbag in a red, chartreuse, or orange. Strong colors that pop against the leopard print. In this outfit my strong solid of choice was a deep burgundy shirt. The burgundy looks rich against the dark hues and the leopard print, it’s the perfect pop of color.
3. Leopard and Denim Duo
For a look that classic pairing your leopard print shoes with denim is always a safe and stylish choice. Wearing leopard shoes with black, dark blue, light blue, white or charcoal jeans always looks stylish.
Keep in mind that I’m referring to classics. Acid wash jeans with neon leopard print shoes it not cool.
4. Match the Leopard Print
I always prefer leopard prints that resemble the real thing but there are leopard print shoes in various colors like white and black, pink and black, blue and black, and even a combination of pink, blue, yellow and black.
For a cohesive outfit you can match the tone of your outfit to the shoes. If you’re shoes are black and white go for cooler tones and vis versa.
St. Peter’s Square
This is the outfit I wore the day we went to visit St. Peter’s Square and the Vatican Museums.
These are the columns that surround the St. Peter’s Square in front of St. Peter’s Basilica. The day was gorgeous and we lucky enough to make it to an outdoors mass in front of St. Peter’s. We got to see Pope Francis, it was truly amazing. Of course we took tons of photos, I’ll share it in an upcoming blog post.
