Casual Sneaker Outfit

Are you a fan of the popular sneaker trend?

These sporty little shoes are everywhere. As much as I love sneakers in the gym I wasn’t sure about wearing them in everyday outfits but, of course, I needed to give it a try.

This is the first of three sneaker outfits I’m will share with you. Today we’re covering casual.

To take sneakers from the gym to the streets you first have to select a style that you’re comfortable with. I don’t mean comfort in the normal sense of shoes because these sneakers are 100 times more comfortable than any spring wedges or summer heels. I mean comfort in the sense that you’re going to want to wear your sneakers everywhere!

The first step, decide if you want bright or neutral, sleek or bulky, low top or high top. There are tons of sneaker variations available so just find one that matches your style. As you know my style is classic minimalist with a mix of contemporary. For my go-to spring and summer sneaker I went with a sleek black and white Nike free flyknit. These low-profile, ultralight, snug shoes are pretty fantastic. Besides being super chic with black skinnies they’re made from polyester yarn – hence the name flyknit.

In this first sneaker outfit, I decided to mix classic and trendy. The ultra skinny jeans have a pattern on the inside of the pants (you can see in the second photo) which add an extra touch of personality. It’s the perfect match to the ultra sleek sneakers. A classic striped top and light cropped denim jacket add a fun contrast to the jet black bottom half of the outfit. A classic pair of aviators and my “V” necklace and this outfit is done!
