A Fall Essential – Leopard Flats
Besides the array of fall boots there is another shoe that is essential during this time of year; leopard flats. Today’s lets discuss how leopard flats can in fact be a neutral and the variety of ways in which you can wear them.
Leopard flats can be worn casually like in this outfit, dressed up with a sequined top and they can even be worn to the office! The leopard print can be considered a neutral during the fall season. They pair well with gorgeous fall colors like olive green, brown, navy, burgundy and gold. Leopard even pairs well with other fall prints like plaid.
I shared with you last week an outfit where I paired plaid, stripes and spotted ankle booties. Mixing three prints can sometimes create an unbalanced look but to combat this I made sure the prints were the same size. No overly thick stripes or spots. Stripes, plaid and leopard prints are as classic as they come and combining them into one look creates a unique fall outfit. So don’t be afraid to mix patterns during this time of year. Especially now during the transitional months when you can experiment with skirts and dresses.
Pair leopard flats with a solid print dress in emerald or royal purple. This will add an interesting element to the look and keep the outfit from being one dimensional. Depending on the dress you can even add a skinny waist belt in leopard to connect the two pieces.
When styling leopard flats for the office pair them with your favorite cropped trousers, coordinating blazer and add a jewel toned blouse to bring some color into the look. You have an outfit that’s work appropriate and stylish.
For a casual look you could wear leopard flats with a pair of distressed jeans and cream turtleneck sweater. A cute outfit for a fall weekend filled with apple picking or pumpkin carving.
Leopard flats are both classic and trendy. These flats add a splash of fun to an outfit and it’s just the perfect amount for those weary of wearing leopard. And since the print is at your feet you don’t have to worry about how it looks against your figure.
