Perfect Pair of Embellished Heels

Have you ever bought a pair of shoes you absolutely love? A pair of shoes you couldn’t wait to get out of the box and put on your feet and glide around the room?

This is how I felt when I bought these shoes. These beauties were my last purchase of 2013 and what I wore to ring in the new year. What more could I want from these perfectly vibrant pumps. They’re embellished with jewels, an energizing shade of purple-pink and wrapped in rich suede. Since they’re Kate Spade I know they are flawless.

These are the kind of heels that can be dressed down, like I have in this outfit, or dressed up. I opted to show you a dressed down outfit first because this is what I wore wine tasting this past weekend in Paso Robles, California. The weather was perfect in Paso so I didn’t need much layering, just a cozy sweater. Wine tasting in the winter is not too bad here in California, it’s actually quite nice.

How to Dress Down Dressy Shoes

When wearing stand out heels, I typically refrain from going too crazy with the rest of the outfit. For one, I don’t want to distract from the heels I want to attract attention to them. I’ll admit it, when I wearing a dazzling pair of heels like these I want people to see them. I also take into consideration where I’m going. This will almost always be the starting point of any outfit.

For example, I knew I was going wine tasting that’s the first consideration. Second, I knew I wanted to wear these heels. Third, I knew it was going to be a little chilly so I needed to wear something warm. And last, wine tasting is a pretty casual affair so I needed to “dress down” these shoes with a pair of distressed denim. This was my thought process behind this outfit.
