Beach Look for a Beach Date
When you need a beach look that transitions from sandy beach to beachside restaurant, here are some style tips to keep in mind.
A beach look that’s perfect for a beach date needs to easily transition from bikini to full-on outfit. In this example, I wore a two-piece bikini and layered over chino shorts and a denim jacket. The halter bikini top doubled as a crop halter top, and as long as you’re not planning on going to any fancy restaurants it will be perfect. This beach look would not quite be the same if it were a triangle bikini top; this halter works so perfectly as a crop top because it’s not as revealing.
Instead of wearing flip flops, I chose a pair of cute, flat, ankle-strap sandals in a bright burnt orange with gold accents.
A larger striped crossbody can be used to hold your jewelry, sandals, and shorts if you choose to take a dip in the ocean. The stripes also go well with the beach theme.
The accessories match the style of the beach look: fun colors and gold items that go with the gold accents of the sandals and handbag.
A denim jacket is a perfect layer for this beach look because it’s casual enough for a beach date and is lightweight. Denim jackets go with most bikinis and look great paired with a variety of shorts, as well as both mini and maxi skirts. I’m actually a huge fan of cropped denim jackets and if you’re curious about other ways to wear a denim jacket, here are 7 ways to wear a denim jacket.
Beach Look Style Tips
If you looking to put together a stylish beach look, here are some style tips to keep in mind.
Instead of flip flops wear cute flat sandals like t-straps, slides, lace-ups or gladiators. Once you get on the beach feel free to go barefoot.
Opt for a two-piece bikini that’s a little more reserved than revealing. This will make it easier to transition from beach to different activities. You can even try a one-piece bikini. The one-piece will look like a bodysuit, but just make sure it looks good paired with shorts.
Add a lighter layer over your bikini top, such as a bolero, lightweight military-inspired jacket, or denim jacket, like I did in this beach look.
Make sure to accessorize appropriately. Wear light, beachy jewelry in gold tones or colorful beads.
Wear the right handbag. Instead of having a handbag you have to hold on to, wear a crossbody bag. Also, select a handbag that screams summer with bright, bold colors or stripes.
Lastly, put together a look you feel comfortable and stylish in. If you’re spending the day at the beach on a date, you’ll want to wear an outfit that you can easily walk around in and take a dip in the ocean if you desire.
I hope this beach look has shown you that you can easily create a stylish beach outfit that is perfect for any date.
