MAGIC Market Week
Every year and sometimes twice a year I travel to Las Vegas for Magic Market Week. I get a glimpse of what’s in store for the upcoming fashion season. I also visit the trends booths to see a forecast of fashion trends for the following year.
In February’s MAGIC, we get to see the Spring 2016 fashion trends. Fashion Snoops gives fashion designers and department stores year trends forecast for preparation.
Spring 2016 Fashion Trends
The trends booths at Magic Market Week display large boards that present colors, materials, outfit examples, trends explanation, and other media elements. All of these items combined gives us an overall picture of what to expect. We’re able to have a good idea of how this trend could translate to everyday wear.
There is a total of four Spring 2016 fashion trends, and each spring 2016 fashion trend is explained below.
Spring 2016 Fashion Trend- Gen-u
“With a spark of bold identity, infectious creativity, and an overall vibrant spirit, Gen-U speaks to today’s Millennials who seek a stimulating life and a “create your own” destiny. Young and involved in many facets of the world, Gen-U is unapologetic in their expressions of imagination and being a true product of tier ever-evolving environments. With a strong digital undercurrent, original ideas from remote sources stir an attraction to bending boundaries, unearthing processes, and furthering the meaning of functionality.”
Spring 2016 Fashion Trend – Alive
“We fall in love with the world around us all over again, appreciating home-grown influences that emphasize organic textures and a joyful spirit for life. A magnified approach at living is the focus, meaning plant textures, colorful botany, and collected specimens inspire plenty of earthen surfaces. Allowing a chance to create new and idyllic surroundings with a strong foundation in the natural ways of earth, air, water and fire, Alive looks at each day and experience with bright eyes, living life out loud while maintaining a strong foothold on the lessons of Mother Nature.”
Spring 2016 Fashion Trend – Global Commune
“They are bohemian spirits in a world focused on handed-down traditions and artisanal techniques. Their passport belongs to nowhere and everywhere at once. Inspired by free-thinking hippies of the 60s and an appreciation for craftsmanship, Global Commune is super saturated with indigo hues, rumpled surfaces, mixed patterns, and rich tapestries – a literal curated collection of all things wonderful out the world around them. Traveling for inspiration is about the only constant on their lives, as a bold patchwork of foreign cultures is what drives them forward to greatness.”
Spring 2016 Fashion Trend – Seamless Innovation
“Activewear becomes more intuitive to our lifestyles, transitioning to intelligent essentials that push us forward to be better, both inside and out. The way we’ve come to use our smart phones and wearable tech devices to be a seamless part of our daily lives, these urban minimalists personify the modern mentality of of health – to obtain clarity through purposeful design, constant flow of ideas and activity, and a decidedly refined level of energy. This very technical outlook on life is balanced with utilitarian softness by using parachute nylon, raw silk, and classic jersey.”
