What to Wear During the Holidays
Getting into the holiday spirit can be as simple as wearing something large and sparkly and of course something red. Last week I shared with you, A Casual Outdoors Holiday Outfit, and what made that outfit holiday centric was the colors, the same goes for this outfit.
Now that it’s December it’s the most appropriate time to wear sparkle for the holidays. I added sparkle to this outfit with this amazing statement bracelet No other piece needed when wearing that show stopper. But you don’t have to just stick to jewelry. You can incorporate shimmer into a holiday look with a sequined top or skirt, metallic trousers or blazer, and even a pair of crystal heels. It goes without saying that you shouldn’t go overboard, but I’m saying it anyways: Don’t go overboard. Use your best judgment. If you’re going to wear a fully sequined skirt wear a solid top and maybe some metallic heels and skimp on the jewelry.
Another easy way to get into the holiday outfit bandwagon is to inject your outfit with some holiday cheer. This means reds, gold, greens, metallic, jewel tones and anything jacquard. My pop of color in this outfit is the bright red satchel from Fossil . Picture this outfit without the red bag, it would be a little dull, but the pop of red really livens up the look.
The last thing I have to mention is the trousers. During the month of December everything is a little more glam – so put away the denim and bring out your patterned, bright, metallic, solid or jacquard trousers. You will immediately turn your look from casual to dressy.
How are you adding sparkle to your outfits this December?
