Shopping Areas in Barcelona
Without a doubt Barcelona is a major shopping destination. Every corner, every alleyway, every part of the city has shops to catch your eye, empty your wallets, and fill your closet. It’s pretty amazing actually. I was pleasantly surprised that there are so many shopping malls and streets lined with inviting stores. It almost feels as if they are calling your name and inciting you with their decorative window displays.
These photos were taken in the shopping area, Passeig de Gracia. One of my favorite shopping centers in Barcelona because of the variety and the stunning architecture from Antoni Gaudi that were within walking distance of the shops. Passeig de Gracia has stores to suit every budget from Chanel to Mango. I perused stores such as Guess, Mango, Zara and Massimo Dutti but if I had the itch to drop some major cash Hermes was just around the corner.
We also walked through the shopping centers of Diagonal Mar, Les Glories, Mare Magnum, and La Maquinista – these are all mall likes buildings. Another fantastic area was the gothic quarter which offered the perfect balance of old and new, with unique one of a kind stores to the more know; like Zara, Mango and H&M. It’s very easy to get lost in the gothic quarter as every turn takes you deeper and deeper into the alleyway maze, the main streets for shopping in this area are Avinguda Portal de l’Angel and Calle de la Portaferrissa.
Take a look at my previous post, An Outfit for a Day of Shopping, in case you missed my shopping outfit.
Overall, shopping in Barcelona is pretty incredible!
