Styling a Military Jacket this Fall
A military jacket is a surprising favorite. A stylish addition to any fall wardrobe.
I fell in love with the first military jacket I bought. I owned it for far too long and wore it with a lot of outfits. I think I might have worn it too much because Peter asked me to get rid of it recently. So it was time to retire an old favorite and add a new stylish military jacket to my wardrobe. The great thing about this jacket style is that it’s not a trendy piece. You can wear it this year and for many years to come.
A military jacket is one of the simplest “non-traditional” jackets you can wear. The jacket can be paired with anything and everything. It might be because of its awesome details or color that makes it such a perfect companion to so fall looks.
You probably have a military jacket in your wardrobe! Have you worn it recently?
You can style this jacket in a classic, feminine, tough and maybe even sexy outfit. I decided that I would wear an everyday casual look for my first look.
The main focus of this outfit was the jacket so I kept everything else relatively neutral. Distressed jeans, stripes and a pair of ankle bootie. The other pop in this outfit is those spotted ankle booties. Aren’t they the perfect touch of pattern!
There are many details that you should consider when purchasing a military jacket. Like length, buttons, collar, shape, fabric, fit, color, etc. These are all important because you should get a jacket that’s the right fit, length and also has interesting details.
For example; the jacket I’m wearing in this outfit is the perfect size and shape for my petite figure. I didn’t want an oversized military jacket because it’s not my style and it would lose its versatility. This jacket also has many nice details. The three buttons on the sleeves, the elbow patches, the quilted pattern on the collar, large square pockets and straps on either side for the option to cinch in at the waist. Perfect!
I would love to know how you style a military jacket! Let me know in the comments!
