I don’t know if you’ve noticed from my outfit posts but I love being outdoors. Whether that be going for a bike ride, exercising, hiking, visiting a national park, taking an outfit posts or even doing more adventurous things like snowboarding, wake boarding or kayaking. I make an effort to enjoy the outdoors by taking some of my daily activities outside. Since I am a blogger and partner in a digital company, I spend lots and lots of time on a computer and I know it can be hard to find the time. Sometimes my boyfriend has to pry my laptop away from me in an effort for me to take it outside.

For the last weekend of summer we decided to head to the beach. Very appropriate don’t you think? We packed our swimsuits and drove to Santa Cruz, California. We knew there was going to be lots and lots of people and as you can see in the photo above of the beach boardwalk that certainly was the case. We arrived early and found a place to park because once the fog cleared and the temperature increased everyone flocks to the beach.

Every part of this exhilarating drive offered interesting sites; from a 1,000-foot climb into the coastal redwood forest to the narrow shoulders and sharp drop-offs of the gripping mountainside roads.

Even though it’s located in my backyard, it was my first time experiencing the full journey. This twisting, cliff-hugging, all american scenic drive takes you on a tour along some of the most beautiful beaches in California.
